The Kindle Fire runs on a modified version of Android and as we know developers love to hack Android devices as much as possible! Latest exploit to date is the ability to run the Amazon Silk browser on any rooted Android device. What sets the Amazon Silk browser apart from the other web browsers is that it relies heavily on cloud-based web services to accelerate your browsing experience. Amazon does have a lot of experience in the cloud with their AWS offering so it will be interesting to see how this Silk browser work.

Before you start you should have a look at the compatibility spreadsheet hosted on Google Docs here. See if your device is listed there and if it does support this Silk browser port.
The installation is quite simple [from XDA]:
Install Tutorial:
1. Download the pack @ [PORT] Amazon Kindle Fire "Silk" Browser.
2. Use Root Explorer to copy the lib files to /system/lib set permissions the same as the others.
3. Install all of the .apks like you would side load.
4. Copy the com.amazon.cloud9-1.apk from /data/app to /system/app
5. Reboot and enjoy
