The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 is the latest iteration of the Galaxy Tab tablet series. As you can guess it comes with a slightly smaller screen than the Galaxy Tab 10.1: 8.9 inches. We didn’t have to wait very long for the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) port to be available. This time this ICS port is for the Samsung Nexus S and can be flashed as a custom ROM. Just a few days ago the CyanogenMod folks released an alpha version of CyanogenMod 7.1 for the HP TouchPad tablet. Since HP’s Fire Sale back in August almost every new HP TouchPad owner is waiting for Android to come to the HP TouchPad tablet. If you own an Android tablet with a nice big screen like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Motorola XOOM you will most likely want to install a Live Wallpaper optimized for Android Honeycomb. Slowly but surely the Android Market is getting bigger and better for Android tablets. Recently Google redesigned their Android Market application for phones but until now it wasn’t available for Android tablets. Apparently some users of the Motorola XOOM got a Market update at the beginning of October and as usual this app update apk has been extracted so you can now install it on any Android Honeycomb tablet.
VegaComb 3.2, a custom ROM that brings Honeycomb 3.2 to the Advent Vega tablet and its variants, has been updated again! Build 9n and 9b have been released just a few days ago and fixes a couple of issues. As a reminder VegaComb 3.2 is a full native port of Honeycomb 3.2 to the Advent Vega tablet which is fully optimized for this device.
