Hide System Menu on Galaxy Tab 10.1

I have myself wondered why it wasn’t possible to hide the system bar on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 as you lose quite a bit of real estate while browsing the web, playing a game etc. Disabling the bar or auto-hiding it is not an out of the box option and once again we have to thank the folks @ XDA as MaximKat has published a modification which allows you to choose when to display this status bar. A much welcomed hack, find out more about it after the break.

You might wonder what it does so check out those 2 screenshots, at the top the status bar is hidden and at the bottom it is displayed:

As you can see you definitely gain some space on your screen, always useful!

You can download the necessary file (status_bar_toggle_update.zip) and find the installation instructions on XDA @ [MOD] Hide the system bar via power menu.
