There is nothing more frustrating then spending $500 or more on a tablet, navigate to a website and find out you only have access to the mobile version of that website… If you’re like me and want to get the full desktop Web experience on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 then this post is for you. Thanks to DocRambone @ XDA, there is now a way to modify permanently your Galaxy Tab browser user agent and make sure the websites see your tablet as a PC.

Modifying your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 browser User Agent is a fairly simple and requires a rooted tablet:

  1. Download the right framework-res.apk from the XDA thread: [MOD] Browser useragent set to "Desktop". There are 3 files available for GT-P7510 XXXFC, GT-P7510 UEKF3 and GT-P7510 UEKM7 (Settings > About tablet > Build Number).
  2. Then copy the framework-res.apk file to the directory system/framework on your Galaxy Tab 10.1 using adb or Root Explorer
  3. Reboot

Now you can enjoy any website in full web version on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
