Some of you may have seen the news on Wednesday that Netflix started to officially support its first Android tablet: the Lenovo IdeaPad K1. This is great but we would love the Netflix app to work on any Android tablet. Thanks to the talented folks @ XDA you can now run Netflix on any Honeycomb tablet and the app was even modded to take advantage of the hardware acceleration and the Honeycomb framework. Find out how to run Netflix on your Android tablet after the break.

All you need to do to run Netflix on your Honeycomb tablet is to install a modified APK. You’ll find this APK on MediaFire (if link is broken try Netflix 1.3.0 Works on 10.1 (LINK)), just download it and copy it to your tablet (use Dropbox or connect it to your computer).

Once you’ve downloaded the file simply install it on your tablet like the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 or the Toshiba Thrive. Log into your Netflix account and enjoy video streaming on your tablet!

We’ve tested this Netflix apk on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet and it does work well. The video quality is pretty good: when a video starts it is usually not great but then after a minute or so it gets better and is fully watchable.

You can see this modified APK in action on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the YouTube video below:
