The HTC EVO 3D has been recently released and while we are waiting for a permanent root solution for this device coolbho3000 @ XDA just released a custom kernel which will overclock the HTC EVO 3D to up to 1.8 GHz. This overclock kernel does only require temp root privileges and is offered as a Linux loadable kernel module which is slightly different than the usual custom kernels.
