Fix GPS Issues on Acer Iconia A500 Tab – How To

The Acer Iconia A500 Tab is a great Android tablet but it doesn’t always get a GPS signal quickly, users have reported having to wait a long time before being able to get their GPS location in Google Maps or other apps. Fortunately there is now a fix which will make the Acer Iconia A500 tab lock GPS signal very quickly in less than 10 seconds. Let’s find out how.


All the credits go to d9ny @ XDA who wrote the first post about this GPS fix for the Acer Iconia tablet.

To get a faster GPS lock you will need to download the zip file for your region of the world in the following XDA thread: Instantaneous GPS Fixation CWR v1.2 US & INTERNATIONAL FINAL! NEW LINKS. For example you have to download North America.zip for the US, Europe.zip for Europe etc.

Then follow the instructions @ GPS FIX in 9 seconds Acer Iconia and copy the files to your tablet using Root Explorer or ADB.
