Root Your Asus Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) - Updated Method

The Asus Eee Pad is one of the most exciting Android Honeycomb tablets out there and it seems to be selling quite well thanks to its attractive price point: $399. This tablet has been rooted since its release and new instructions came out recently. Let’s have a look.

The updated instructions on how to root your Asus Eee Pad Transformer (TF101) can be found @ AsusTransformer Root + CWM recovery. This root hack uses Gingerbreak to root your Asus tablet, you can download all the necessary files there (TF101_BLOB_ROOT.zip and CWM_BLOB_V4 or CWM_BLOB_V5).

Make sure to read to following notes:

  • You need an microSD card in at all times
  • Asus OTA updates will not install after installing CWM recovery
  • This gingerbreak version will not work with 2.2.x or 2.3.x roms its will only work with 3.0.x
