HTC Sense 3.0 comes with a lot of improvements and one that we are especially interested in is the new camera app which lets you take panoramic pictures. It also allows you to record 1080p videos if your smartphone is capable of doing it. This new version of HTC Sense is only coming with the newest HTC devices but thanks to francois.d.dillinger @ XDA it is now possible to install this camera app on any device running HTC Sense like the HTC EVO.
This new HTC Sense 3.0 camera app has been tested successfully on the Sprint HTC EVO and T-Mobile HTC Glacier and should also work on other devices as long as you’re running an HTC Sense ROM (it won’t work on CyanogenMod 7 for example).
You can check out this new camera app in the screenshots below:
You can download the apk file for this camera app on XDA @ [APP] HTC Sense 3.0 Camera APK for HTC EVO/HTC Glacier on Sense ROMs (with PANORAMA).
Once you’ve downloaded the HTCCamera.apk file, simply copy it to /system/app/ on your HTC device, overwrite the existing file and modify the permissions to rw-r—r—. Now restart your device and enjoy the new HTC Sense 3.0 camera app.
You will need to root your device prior to installing this new camera app, if you haven’t done so already make sure to browse our articles on how to root your Android device.
