Zebwen and Corvus @ XDA started to work on porting the Honeycomb SDK to the Advent Vega and they were able to boot Honeycomb on it and released a video of it. For those of you not familiar with the Advent Vega, it is a low cost Android tablet which offers decent specs: dual-core Tegra 2 CPU clocked at 1 GHz, Android Froyo and a 10 inches touch screen. It doesn’t seem to be easy to find in the States but it reportedly sold out when it was first released in the UK.

You can check out Android Honeycomb running on the Advent Vega in the YouTube video below:

Many things are not working yet but this was expected and keep in mind that the Android Honeycomb source code is not yet available. This is not ready for prime time yet but maybe the Advent Vega will soon have a usable version of Honeycomb running on it!
