Some devices like the HTC HD2 are well known for their ability to run many different OSes, the Palm Pre wasn’t known for that until now as the Chinese WebOS community managed to boot Android on the Palm Pre! This will keep Palm Pre owners busy while we wait for the new HP devices… k3dar @ PreCentral described the process to run Android on the Palm Pre, let’s have a look.
Please note that we will not be responsible if you end up bricking your device. Rooting or customizing your device can be risky, if you follow the instructions you should be fine!
You can see Android booting up on a Palm Pre in the YouTube video below:

Don’t get your hopes too high as many features are not working yet but this is a great achievement and we can expect that over time it will get more usable [from android-on-pre]:
Working: Touchscreen(single-touch), Wifi(not always), Keyboard
Don't Work: Sound, Phone, BT, GPS, Sensors
The Android build used is an open source one (AOSP): full-eng AOSP OPENMASTER eng.xndcn.20110301.101713 and it does require to have your Palm Pre connected to your computer at all time…
