The Dell Venue is the Android version of the Dell Venue Pro, a Windows Phone 7 device. It is a well built device both in its Windows Phone 7 or Android version and while it is not yet available worldwide the folks @ XDA have already managed to find a working rooting process.

Please note that we won't be responsible if you end up bricking your device. Rooting your device can be risky, if you follow the instructions you should be fine!

Luckily the process is actually quite simple [from How to root Dell Venue]:

  1. Download the Dell Venue driver @ ftp://ftp.dell.com/Handheld/R291096.exe (or ftp://ftp.dell.com/Handheld/)
  2. Connect your Dell Venue to your computer
  3. Install the driver file (R291096.exe) on your computer
  4. Download SuperOneClick @ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=913709
  5. Install and Open SuperOneClick
  6. Press Root to start rooting your device

You can see more information about SuperOneClick in our article @ SuperOneClick - One-Click Root for Android devices.
