Just a few days after releasing greenpois0n RC5, the Chronic Dev Team released greenpois0n RC6 which brings us an untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.2.1 running on the Apple TV 2G. As a reminder greenpois0n RC 5 was only compatible with the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad running iOS 4.2.1.

Please note that we won't be responsible if you end up bricking your device. Rooting or jailbreaking your device can be risky, if you follow the instructions you should be fine!

To jailbreak / root your Apple TV running iOS 4.2.1 go to greenpois0n.com and download greenpois0n RC6. It is available on Windows, Mac or Linux. It is also possible to jailbreak / root your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad using greenpois0n RC6 as well.

Once you have downloaded greenpois0n RC6 simply follow the instructions on your computer screen. After you have jailbroken your Apple TV, connect it to your TV and navigate to the greenpois0n menu and select Inject Software to install the Cydia packages.

To jailbreak your Apple TV using greenpois0n RC 6, you can also follow the steps in the YouTube video below:
