How To SIM Unlock the Samsung Galaxy S

The Samsung Galaxy S can now be SIM unlocked for free thanks to an application developed by helroz @ XDA. What this means is that you should be able to use any SIM card into a Samsung Galaxy S using this application. Let’s have a look.

Note that we will not be responsible if you end up bricking your device, rooting your phone or tablet can be risky. If you follow the instructions carefully you will be fine!

Note that this application does not work on the Samsung Galaxy S sold by DoCoMo. The application has been tested on Galaxy S devices running Android 2.1 and 2.2 (Froyo).

In order to SIM unlock your Samsung Galaxy S you will need to root your device first. To do so you can use z4root, simply follow our instructions @ z4root – Another One Click Root Solution for Android.

The application developed by helroz does require busybox to be installed and an active Internet connection. Check it out in the screenshot below:

To SIM unlock your Galaxy S go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=906255 and download the application. Simply follow the instructions on your screen to complete the SIM unlock.
