Tap Tap Revenge is one of the largest and most successful music game franchise for iOS devices (iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch) and Tapulous just released its latest iteration: Tap Tap Revenge 4. Tap Tap Revenge is played like Guitar Hero except you use your fingers to tap color balls as they reach the bottom of your screen. It is extremely simple to use and it is free, let’s have a look.
What makes or breaks music games is the music itself and Tap Tap Revenge delivers, with many free tracks available as you play and many more tracks to buy if you want to. You can find Top 40 music: Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Rihanna and others as well as less known artists which is great. You should be able to listen to something you like in Tap Tap Revenge 4!
See below an expert playing Tap Tap Revenge 4 in Extreme difficulty on “House Music” by Benny Benassi which is one of the free songs you get by default with the game:

Quite impressive… anyway we loved the game. The graphics are great for that kind of game (hopefully the guys who developed Guitar Hero 6 for Android can use this as an example) and we liked the way the developers customized them for each song, it’s a nice touch.
Pros
- Nice Retina display graphics
- Great songs (both free and premium)
- Very easy to control while still being challenging in harder difficulties
- Free!
Cons
- Repetitive (like many music games)
- Some bugs (slow start or games hanged on us…) but quite rare
Final: 9/10
Tap Tap Revenge 4 is a great game for iOS and since it is free you don’t have any excuses not to try it. We can guarantee you will enjoy it and spend some great time playing it (unless of course you don’t like music games!).
Tap Tap Revenge 4 is available for free in the App Store and on iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/tap-tap-revenge-4/id405373266?mt=8&ign-mpt=uo%3D4.
