QuickShutdown is an application developed by petititi @ XDA which is very similar to Slide2Shutdown except it is not using the .NET framework. QuickShutdown can be used to easily and quickly turn off or restart your Windows Mobile device, version 1.5.4 was released recently.
Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is the latest installment of the rhythm game franchise and it is now available on almost every possible systems including computers, video game systems and mobile devices. This week we’ll take a look at Guitar Hero: WoR on Android which is developed by Glu Mobile and was released a few weeks back on the Android Market.

The folks at DroidPirate have recently been able to extract the lockscreen files from a Motorola Droid 2 R2D2 edition ROM and they have ported it to the Motorola Droid X and the regular Motorola Droid 2. This lockscreen is really slick and it’s a must have if you are a Star Wars fan!

The Palm Pixi is the second WebOS device from Palm after the Palm Pre, it comes with a different form factor including a non-sliding keyboard and a smaller screen. The folks at WebOS Internals who overclocked the Palm Pre before have now successfully overclocked the Palm Pixi. They’re now doing some additional testing and speeds of up to 900 MHz could be possible.
The T-Mobile G2 cannot be permanently rooted yet but the folks at Modaco have published a very easy one-click root solution to temporarily root your new T-Mobile G2 device. This simple rooting application is called VISIONary you simply install it and launch it whenever you need to root your device.
Angry Birds is finally available on Android and it is time for us to have a look at the phenomenon. Angry Birds is a puzzle game developed by Rovio in which you will have to break pigs’ castles using birds. The story is basic: the pigs stole birds’ eggs and now the birds are angry. This game is addictive!

The Dell Streak is one of the slickest Android cell phone available on the market today, with its huge 5 inches screen the Streak is closer to a tablet than a phone. Its biggest issue is that it ships with Android 1.6 which is really old, hackers found a way to run Android 2.1 on it and now Froyo aka Android 2.2 can also be installed on the Dell Streak.
Geohot the prolific iOS hacker is back and has just released limera1n which can unlock any Apple device running iOS 4.0, 4.1 and according to him even future updates. limera1n works on several Apple devices including the iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G, iPad, iPhone 4, iPod Touch 4G.
If you live in the US and are not a Verizon customer you are going to love this hack, xeudoxus @ DroidForums unlocked the recently released Skype application so that you can place calls using 3G on Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile. More information after the break.
Maximus.Mobile @ XDA released recently an application for Windows Mobile called MMAppLauncher which is replacing the Start and Settings menu. MMAppLauncher keeps track of your 20 most recent apps, allows you to save an application as a favorite and has many more cool features.
Apple is back at the top these days and while it’s mainly due to the iPod and iPhone the good old Mac is also getting a lot of love. I have always been a big fan of racing games on consoles or PCs and Asphalt 5 is a great way to get the excitement of a racing game on your portable device whether it’s on your iPhone or iPad. Asphalt 5 was created by Gameloft and released a couple of months back for iOS devices but only recently for Android devices.
