The HTC HD2 is so far the best Windows Mobile device available and while it is very fast some developers have released an application to overclock it. By default the HTC HD2 runs at 768Mhz and can now run at higher frequencies, the device feels snappier when overclocked.
The Sprint HTC EVO 4G is one of the most anticipated Android device, its amazing screen and 4G compatibility makes it shine in the crowded Android phone market. Some lucky developers got their hands on the HTC EVO 4G at the Google I/O Conference in San Francisco and after just a couple of hours they have already been able to root it.

Installing custom ROMs on your device is a good way to keep it up to date. Android 2.2 (Froyo) is coming out soon for example and you won’t have to wait for Motorola and Verizon to release an official Droid update, as soon as some chefs will release a custom ROM with Froyo you will be able to flash it on your rooted Motorola Droid. FPSEce is a PlayStation emulator for Windows Mobile and a new version has recently been released by its developer. This emulator is quite impressive as you can see in the video and is able to run many PlayStation games like Tekken 3, Coolboarders, Final Fantasy VII or Gran Turismo. Of course the overall frame rate depends on the CPU of your Windows Mobile device.
Sprint Samsung Moment owners got an Android 2.1 update last week but the Sprint HTC Hero owners still have to wait for an official update… For the most adventurous Android 2.1 for the HTC Hero has been leaked and can now be installed on your device.
This is a big news! 911sniper @ XDA released the first known Windows Phone 7 leak for an unknown HTC device called the HTC Mondrian. The HTC Mondrian hasn’t been released yet but will most likely come to AT&T in the US. This is the first step towards a working Windows Phone 7 ROM on other HTC devices like the HD2. If you’re like us you get bored quickly with the standard user interface shipped with Windows Mobile so here is new Android theme to check out called WinDroid. It is developed by an XDA Developer: myslee_ovi and looks gorgeous. It’s a nice way to get the Android look and feel without changing your Windows Mobile device.
It has been a while since we last talked about the XDAndroid Project which provides a port of Android that can run on some HTC devices including the HTC Touch Pro 2, HTC Diamond 2, HTC Touch Pro and HTC Touch HD. The folks behind the project have made a lot of progress and introduced Android 2.1 recently. Want to give it a try?
The folks @ Windows Phone Hacker developed a cool application that adds Windows Phone 7–like notifications to Windows Mobile 6.5. This application displays a top bar whenever you get an email or a text message, you can click on the top bar to go to the notification, this is pretty nice! Check out the video after the break!
Last week we saw that it was now possible to run Android from Google on the iPhone! The developer is working hard on his Android port and released an update showing off how Multitouch works on it! Remember this is for the iPhone 2G not for 3G or 3GS yet but we can bet this will come soon. Video after the break.
Fireslave @ XDA released recently a Windows Phone 7 theme for ThrottleLauncher 1.0 which mimics really well the Metro theme created by Microsoft. The Windows Phone 7 Suite 1.5 is now quite usable, features live tiles and is designed for all Windows Mobile devices running ThrottleLauncher.
Recently a couple of developers at ZuneBoards have been able to hack the Zune, the music player from Microsoft. This hack opens up the Zune platform and will let users run custom applications, games, emulators etc. It works on all the Zune models including the Zune HD!
