Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is the latest installment of the rhythm game franchise and it is now available on almost every possible systems including computers, video game systems and mobile devices. This week we’ll take a look at Guitar Hero: WoR on Android which is developed by Glu Mobile and was released a few weeks back on the Android Market.
For those of you who may not know what Guitar Hero is about, it is a music game in which you see notes popping up on what is called the highway and you have to make sure you hit every single note to get the highest possible score for a given song.
Take a look at the following screenshots to get a better idea of what Guitar Hero looks like on Android:
As you can see Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock on Android is just a port of the Mobile version and has nothing to do with the iOS version of Guitar Hero for example which is a shame frankly.
Android is popular enough to deserve its own optimized version of the game.
Pros
- Another Guitar Hero on Android (trying hard to find something nice to say about this game)
- Some achievements are available, that’s a nice feature
Cons
- Poor graphics and sound quality (even when the “high quality” version is downloaded)
- Syncing issues making it hard to play
- $7.99
Final: 3/10
At this price point and with such a poor realization we cannot recommend Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock to anyone except those who are collecting the Guitar Hero games. There are many more games on the Android Market to keep you entertained.
We tested Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock on the HTC EVO 4G, the game is available on the Android Market for $7.99. Note that a demo is available for free as well.
