The HTC EVO 4G has been rooted a while back already but with every Android update the community has to find new ways to root the updated OS. We had to wait a little bit but now Android 2.2 (aka Froyo) running on the HTC EVO 4G can be rooted using a method similar to the one used on the Motorola Droid 2.
All the credits for this rooting procedure go to regaw_leinad over at XDA Developers who released it recently.
