Windows Phone 7 running on HTC HD2We didn’t expected it to happen this early but it appears that some developers have already managed to run an early build of Windows Phone 7 on a HTC HD2. By now we know that the HTC HD2 will most likely not receive an official Windows Phone 7 update so when this custom ROM will be released it will be our chance to get it. Videos after the break!

This breaking news came from Tom Codon in an HTCPedia Forum related to HD2 ROM Development. You can take a look at some of the screenshots and read more about it @ http://htcpedia.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2381. All the credits go to HTCPedia and the HTC HD2 Russian team: Football and MagLite.

A custom beta ROM will be available soon and you will need an unlocked HTC HD2 to use it. I can’t wait to see it on the newly released HD2 from T-Mobile ;)
You can find more information about to unlock your HTC HD2 here:

Update (03/29): Many videos are now floating around showing Windows Phone 7 Series running on different devices including an HTC Touch Diamond!!! It appears that using a Remote Desktop Connection it is possible to create easily a fake video... So don't hold your hopes too high and we'll see later if this is real or not. We'll keep an eye on it.

Here are the 2 videos that have been released so far, take a look and see for yourself:

It is reported that everything is working fine including Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi etc. The only problem is the graphics driver which is not optimized yet but we can trust someone will find a solution.
