Android 2.0.1 for HTC DevicesAndroid is becoming more usable on Windows Mobile devices thanks to the hard work of the Android and Windows Mobile communities. You can now run Android 1.6 or 2.0.1 on an HTC Touch Pro for example. Since Android on Windows Mobile is now quite stable some talented developers found a way to create a dual boot application for Windows Mobile.!

Once again we have to thank someone from XDA Developers: Yozgatg who released this dual boot application called Gen.Y DualBOOT.

You can follow the XDA thread here:

The installation instructions are very simple:

  1. Download the right Android packages for your device, you can look at the two following articles to locate the right packages:
    - Running Android 2.0.1 on HTC phones
    - Running Android 1.6 on a HTC Touch Pro
Extract all the required files and copy them to the root of your device Internal Storage or Storage Card.
  2. Download the appropriate Gen.Y DualBOOT CAB for your device:

  3. Soft reset / reboot your device and after a couple of seconds you should get to a bootloader screen.
